Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Responsible for leading and managing the university's electrical operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance of all electrical systems. Prioritizes leadership and team management, including planning, assigning, and overseeing daily work activities, setting performance expectations, and fostering accountability within the electrical shop. Provides mentorship and professional development to staff, promoting technical growth and adherence to best practices. As a subject matter expert, the supervisor offers technical guidance and direction for complex electrical issues, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and university policies. Performs hands-on electrical work when necessary, the primary focus of this position is managing people, resources, and workflows to support the university's mission and operational goals.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
1. Supervises, coordinates, and assists in electrical work tasks and projects involving the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and circuits
2. Complies with building codes, electrical codes, fire codes, and other technical standards and specifications
3. Facilitates accurate and timely communications among shops, other disciplines, the management team, contractors, and the campus regarding changes, updates, and scheduling, maintenance, and preventative maintenance tasks
4. Inspects crew maintenance operations, establishes and communicates standards for performance, assesses and records performance, and interacts with customers/campus in a professional manner
5. Leads, motivates, monitors, and oversees teams of electricians to ensure quality work

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent

Other Required Qualifications
Current and valid Journeyman Electrical license
Current, valid and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience
Four (4) years related work experience in construction and/or maintenance in residential, commercial, or industrial settings including at least two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Master Electrical License State of Georgia (Active)

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Proposed Salary

The midpoint of the salary range is $34.90 per hour. Offers are based on relevant experience.

Able to use all meters and test equipment related to electrical systems
Able to troubleshoot electrical problems and plan and improve electrical and circuitry layouts
Able to read and interpret blueprints
Able to work with job specific machines and hand tools in a safe manner
Able to maintain professional and appropriate appearance
Able to work non-traditional shifts to include nights, weekends, and on-call services
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Advanced working knowledge of electrical systems and circuits
Knowledge of governing federal, state, and/or local regulations

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
