Job Description

This position will report to the Division of Facilities Management located at the West Charleston Campus. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Electrical Journeyman work.
- Nevada Electrical Journeyman Card.
- Read blue prints, work with circuits.
- Work with low voltage to 480 volts.
- Work with UPS systems and generators.
- Work with emergency call boxes.
- Create a material list for supervisors to order.
- Work with lighting 277 circuits and upgrade to LEDs.
- Work with BMS systems.
- Work with controls.
- Work with OTS networks.
- Work with data lines and fiber infrastructure.
- Must follow instructions, cooperate and interact with CSN staff, vendors, students, and faculty.
- Maintain high quality of customer service.
- Requires utilizing PC for Work Order System "TMA", leave, emails, building management system and other associated software.
- Must adhere to NEC, local/state/building codes.
- Responsible for the maintenance, service, repair, and diagnostic duties associated with Electrical work.
- This position requires reliable and consistent attendance.
- Lifting up to 60lbs, working on a ladder, being able to enter small access and confined spaces.
- Requires bending, working under equipment, getting into ceilings, moving about ceilings, and working with HVACR systems.
- Work with complex Electrical controls, automation, wiring, low voltage, communications, and data.
- This position will work with 120,277,480,230, single phase, three phase, 24 and DC.
Must be willing to work at multiple campuses and have reliable transportation
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level electrician experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Journeyman's Card.
- 5 years of in field experience or 1 year field experience with journeyman's card.
- experience in data communication systems.
Scheduled Weekly Hours:
This position will work one of the following shifts, this is subject to change based on the needs of the college.
Monday - Thursday - 7am - 6pm
Wednesday - Saturday - 7am - 6pm
This position will require overtime in emergencies, reliable attendance and flexibility. This requires adjusting shifts for maintenance or service in allowing adequate time to have school back to normal operations before the start of shift.
Starting Salary:
CBA A, E, F Grade 32, Step 1 - $58,338.72.
Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
